According to Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, everything suggests the legendary Argentine will be a Barcelona player come the 2023/24 season.
The Spanish club's vice-president has made it known that the Blaugrana are actively trying to re-sign their record goalscorer, while head coach Xavi Hernandez has also admitted he would welcome his former teammate's return to the club.
There now appears to be a large likelihood that Messi will return to the Camp Nou, with Romero claiming there is an 80% chance that the La Masia alumni will go back to Catalonia.
However, the other 20% has to do with PSG. While negotiations seem to have stalled between the French champions and the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner, Mbappe reportedly wants the club to do everything in their power to try to keep the diminutive attacker in their ranks.
Despite the team's failure to progress beyond the UEFA Champions League's round of 16 for a second successive season, the French attacker is said to believe that the record Ligue 1 winners' best chance of being triumphant in Europe's premier club competition involves the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner.
