PSL legend Daine Klate has responded to Stan Matthews saying that SuperSport United would be open to having him back at the club in a coaching role.
Klate made a big impact during his time as a player at SuperSport, winning the Premiership title on three consecutive occasions with Gavin Hunt at the helm. The six-time Premiership champion has now gone into coaching and had his first taste of being in the hotseat when he took charge of Chippa United's first team before the start of the season.

Klate was in charge for seven matches before Chippa Mpengesi wielded the axe in September last year, but the PSL legend is focusing on the future, with a schools project on the cards.
In the interview with the Siya crew, Matthews said: "Daine would be the kind of candidate I would bring back to the club. If you say to me 'will Daine be part of the future of SuperSport United Football Club?' and you say to me 'yes or no', then I would say yes. There is a future for Daine Klate at SuperSport. It's not now, because we are full and we just took Jabu (Maluleka) and I am steered by my head coach and Gavin wanted Jabu in and we were comfortable with that," Matthews said.
"SuperSport is close to my heart. The person that I am, they played a huge part in that. It's a place I will always call home because of what I've built and the family that I left behind there. If I go there any day, everybody loves having me around and they still greet me the same. I appreciate what they have done for me and, to a certain degree, they appreciate what I have done for them. So, for me, if the call comes and I am needed and if it suits me and the club, then it would definitely be a match made in heaven," Klate told the Siya crew.

Klate has been impressed with the work Hunt has been doing on his first season back at SuperSport this term. Matsatsantsa are in third place on the Premiership standings and have a good chance of qualifying for either the CAF Champions League or Confederation Cup.
"With coach Gavin going back to SuperSport, it's a good fit. He knows the club and the club knows him. He's had success with the club previously, so I don't see why he can't have success again with the club. I am just hoping next season they can get closer to Sundowns. If not, challenge Sundowns for the league. We obviously have to have massive respect for Sundowns, but I think coach Gavin has done extremely well with what he has," Klate said.
