Ahead of the Bianconeri's 1-0 win over Freiburg at home in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, word spread that the Frenchman had been left out of the matchday squad at the last minute.
It was said that Pogba had been dropped for "disciplinary reasons" after arriving late to a team dinner on Wednesday.
Speaking after the game, Allegri confirmed that the 29-year-old did, in fact, slip up on his time-keeping and was removed from the squad as a result.
"He was late last night and, out of respect for the squad, I think it is only right not to call him up," he said, according to Football Italia.
"He will be at our disposal again from tomorrow."
Since returning from injury, Pogba has made two appearances for the Old Lady in recent weeks.
The ex-Manchester United midfielder has missed 41 matches this season due to fitness issues.
