Having failed to receive a proper send-off at Manchester United, reports suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo has invited four of his closest ex-Red Devils teammates to watch him play for his new club.

Ronaldo's controversial exit from Old Trafford coincided with the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with the 37-year-old giving an explosive interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan, during which he lambasted United for various reasons, prior to the global showpiece kicking off. Days later, the Premier League club and the player decided to mutually terminate his contract.
As the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was already with his national team when his deal at Old Trafford was terminated, the Madeira native was unable to say goodbye to his United teammates.
According to The Sun, international football's all-time leading goalscorer is eager for some of his former dressing room colleagues to watch him play in Saudi Arabia should their schedules allow.
Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, Raphael Varane and Casemiro are reported to be the four Red Devils Ronaldo has invited to watch ply his trade in the Saudi Pro League as a form of proper farewell.
Should the trip to Riyadh fail to materialise, the alternative is said to be for the aforementioned players and perhaps some other United players who played with the football icon at the Theatre of Dreams to visit him at his Lisbon home.
"There are still a few lads here who have nothing but respect for Ronny and were sad how it all ended, because they never got to say a proper goodbye," a club insider said, per The Sun.
"He recently left the player WhatsApp groups but promised to keep in touch with a few and has invited them to his new place in Lisbon and to Saudi to watch him play.
