Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has opened up on the technical team changes possibly affecting Steve Komphela and Manqoba Mngqithi.
Since Mokwena was appointed as a sole head coach, the future of senior coach Mngqithi in particular at the club, whose new position in the technical team has been viewed as a demotion, has been cast in doubt.

Mngqithi's contract is also expiring at the end of the season and Soccer Laduma previously reported that Mokwena, having the full support of Sporting Director Flemming Berg, has been given the privilege to bring in his own technical team and could ultimately hold the key, on whether the 51-year old is retained at the end of the season.
The young Sundowns tactician recently confirmed that there will be technical team changes in the near future, as "It's normal" for a new head coach at any club to bring on board his own backroom staff.
After the Brazilians' win over Swallows, Mokwena responded to questions on whether those changes would affect Komphela and Mngqithi.
"Hearsay, speculation, no. We're very happy with the contributions of the entire technical team and when I said that "it is only normal"," Mokwena said in a press conference.
"Graham Potter took over from Thomas Tuchel and there were changes (in the technical team at Chelsea), for sure there were changes.

"The previous coach of Mamelodi Sundowns left and went to a different club (Al Ahly) and there were changes, technical changes.
"And so it's only normal this thing and sometimes it's blown out of proportion because it happens maybe a little bit in between the periods where there's not a lot to talk about from a football perspective," he said.
The erudite tactician went on suggest that the future of any technical member will be decided by the club.
"So that's the only thing I can say with regards to that but the club is very happy with everyone, from coach Steve, to coach Manqoba, to coach Wendell (Robinson), to Sbu (Sibusiso Mahlangu), who is the physical trainer, the analysts," he carried on.
"And at the end of the day it's the club that decides. The club decides my stay, everyone else's stay, not just me you know, because the club is far more important than any individual and will outlive each and every single one of us," he added.
