Mane Reveals Reason Behind 'Struggles' At Bayern

Mane Reveals Reason Behind 'Struggles' At Bayern

Sadio Mane has opened up about his recent poor run of form following his off-season move from Liverpool to Bayern Munich, stating that the adaptation has not been easy.

During the off-season, Mane drew the curtain on his six-year stint as a Red when he traded Merseyside for Bavaria in a reported €32 million (R566 million) deal.

The 30-year-old won every club title available during his time at Anfield, but following last season's UEFA Champions League final, he made it clear he wanted a new challenge.

After hitting the ground running for Die Roten, scoring four goals in his first four matches for the Bundesliga side, the Senegal forward suffered a slump in form as he failed to find the back of the net in the subsequent five games, included blanks in both of Bayern's two Champions League fixtures so far and in a recent loss to Augsburg.

However, Mane has since ended his mini-goal drought, putting the ball past Lukas Hradecky in the German champions' 4-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen on Friday, helping his team end their four-game winless run in the league in the process.

"It is going well. Switching from one club to another is not easy," he told UEFA.com of his recent Bayern struggles.

"I spent eight very nice years in England, six years at Liverpool [after] two at Southampton, and now I am in a new country.

"It is not easy because everything changes so suddenly: people, training, everything.

"Everything is changing so it is not easy at all. I need to adapt. I knew that and it came as no surprise. It is happening just the way I imagined it.

"People here are welcoming, and they're real players. People around the club are amazing so I am very happy."
