Lionel Messi has reportedly made a big decision on his future at Paris Saint-Germain, and will only return to Barcelona if a certain player leaves.

Although it has been reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano that the 35-year-old will only make a call on his future after the 2022 FIFA World Cup, a Spanish journalist has now claimed Messi is determined to leave the French giants.
According to Marc Marba, who works for Sport, the Argentina captain is sure he will depart the Ligue 1 leaders upon the conclusion of the current season.
Messi has less than a year on his contract in Paris and has been strongly linked with a stunning return to Barcelona, whom he left as a free agent in August 2021 after president Joan Laporta chose to not offer him a new deal.
Laporta's decision, which came following a long insistence that Messi would be committing to a new contract at the Camp Nou, appeared to shock the 2021 Copa America winner before he eventually penned a two-year stay in France.
Although he has started the 2022/23 season in better form, it is suggested that the seven-time Ballon d'Or victor believes this will be his final campaign at PSG despite the French club's wish to extend his contract.
The same journalist, though, also said that Messi's potential return might only materialise if ex-Spain defender Gerard Pique leaves Barca, with the pair believed to have had a fallout over his exit last year.
Pique, who came through Barcelona's ranks alongside Messi, was reported to have told Laporta that the team would be able to recover from the Argentine leaving.
The 35-year-old is the Catalan giants' all-time record goalscorer with 672 goals, while he also assisted 303 times in the 778 appearances he made during his 16-year stay in the senior team.
