Ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup game on Sunday, Nigerian outfit Kwara United accused AS Douanes of hiring a traditional healer to sprinkle blood on their players before they were set to take the pitch.
African International Passes Away
After losing 3-0 away to Kwara United in Lagos during the first leg of their first preliminary round tie of the Confederation Cup, AS Douanes were seemingly keen on turning the result around by any means.
In an attempt to secure passage to the next round of the competition, Douanes appeared to enlist the services of two herbalists, one of whom sprinkled blood on the Nigerian outfit's players before Sunday's decisive second leg.
Kwara took to their official Twitter account to show what happened prior to the encounter at the Stade General Seyni Kountche.
"AS Douanes hired herbalists and poured blood on the Kwara United FC players as they were about to enter the field," the social media post reads. "The two herbalists, one with a keg of blood and the other with a goat, performed the act when the players were coming down from the bus. No single policeman."

Despite the apparent voodoo, Douanes were unable to turn the tie around as the game in Niamey ended 0-0, with their hopes of reaching the Confederation Cup group stage dissipating with a 3-0 aggregate scoreline.
The Nigerian Premier League side will now face reigning competition champions RS Berkane in the second preliminary round.
