After he returned to England to reunite with his ex-Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has now shared his thoughts on Chelsea's decision to sack the German manager.
Chelsea Chief Opens Up About Tuchel Sacking
The ex-Gabon captain signed for the Blues on deadline day of the recent window after spending just half a season under the management of Xavi Hernandez at Barcelona.
In doing so, the former Arsenal forward rejoined forces with Tuchel after spending the bulk of his time at Borussia Dortmund working with the German tactician, during which he scored 79 goals in 95 matches.
Things, however, did not go according to plan for Aubameyang and Tuchel after new Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly made the decision to sack the manager just one game into the forward's new stay in London.
"Everyone knows the relationship that I have with Thomas," he said, according to football365.
"It's obviously sad when someone leaves the club and obviously, I only saw him for a few days. But this is football and when you play football you have to adapt quickly and in some moments in the season, this can happen.
"I think he [Tuchel] was a bit frustrated and sad. Obviously, I will try to talk to him as soon as possible."
Aubameyang scored 13 goals in 24 matches for the Catalan giants prior to his departure, with Xavi praising the striker's attitude in the wake of his transfer to Chelsea.
