Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia has broken his silence on the club's most-wanted asset.
Striker, Bongokuhle Hlongwane scored the match-winner in Bafana Bafana's 1-0 win over Ghana in the World Cup qualifiers.
The attacker has attracted interest from big clubs such as Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, but according to Kadodia, the youngster might not be ready for a big move just yet.
"'Look, I always guide players properly. He needs to develop his football very well. football is very tough and big clubs can spoil him and give him good money while at Maritzburg United, we want to make them happy," Kadodia told the media.
With the club having lost Thabiso Kutumela, Richard Ofori and Rushine De Reuck to big clubs, Kadodia says players will always bet inspired by those moves.
"It is not all the time that players want to stay at Maritzburg, besides that, you see other players moving to bigger clubs and they get inspired to go too. We will do our best to keep our players and groom them correctly," he added.
"The danger is going to the wrong clubs and not getting game-time at a young age. I think we also have issues with agents, they need to guide players properly."
