Outgoing Royal AM goalkeeper Xolani Ngcobo is edging closer to securing his next move, with sources indicating that Golden Arrows are the favourites to land his signature.
The 31-year-old shot-stopper, currently a free agent following Royal AM’s expulsion from the PSL, has attracted interest both locally and abroad.

Tanzanian giants Young Africans (Yanga FC) have shown interest in bringing him to East Africa, according to close sources, while Sekhukhune United have also been monitoring his situation closely.
However, insiders suggest that Abafana Bes’thende are now in pole position to land Ngcobo.
“Yanga FC have joined Sekhukhune United and Orlando Pirates in the race for Xolani Ngcobo, who’s currently a free agent. But from what I understand, he’s leaning towards signing with Golden Arrows,” said a source close to the player.
Ngcobo had previously been offered to Pirates, with hopes that his solid individual displays in a difficult season for Royal AM would earn him a place at one of the league’s top clubs.
He managed four clean sheets in nine appearances and was a key performer despite his team's overall struggles.
But the Buccaneers have since cooled their interest, with the club reportedly satisfied with their current goalkeeping options.

Sipho Chaine remains the first-choice goalkeeper, backed by Melusi Buthelezi and a promising group of reserves including Siyabonga Dladla and Ethan Visagie.
With the Pirates door seemingly closed and talks of a move abroad still pending, Ngcobo could soon become a valuable addition to the Arrows squad as they look to add experience between the posts.
