"They have been looking at different young goalkeepers but Mazhamba has stood out in recent times both in training with the senior team as well as in games for the DDC team where he has kept six clean sheets and the club is happy with that and that's why they are offering him a three-year senior team contract. The technical team believes if given more game time in friendly games in the pre-season then he could compete at a higher level as well," the Siya source stated.
A second insider mentioned that, as part of the club's plans, two goalkeepers may be released or loaned out at the start of next season to make room for Mazhamba.

"The team is looking for an experienced goalkeeper but at the same time they may release two as they look to cut down players in the goalkeeping department. It's believed that they are looking at Bontle Molefe and Fiacre Ntwari to be either loaned out or sold if chances be and promote Takalani (Mazhamba)," the second insider stated.
17-year-old Mazhamba has represented both the Under-17 and Under-20 national teams and is currently part of coach Raymond Mdaka's preliminary Under-20 SA AFCON squad.
Soccer Laduma reached out to Chiefs for comment on the matter, but there was no response at the time of publication.
