Mike Makaab has opened up on the recent exit of Vusumuzi Vilakazi as co-coach at AmaZulu, revealing that support will be provided for the coach to deal with the issues that he has.
Usuthu announced the surprising departure of Vilakazi towards the end of February, coming it at a time when the club had finally found consistent form which had put them in the top five. But, in a shock twist, the coach's departure was confirmed by the club, revealing that he resigned to leave Arthur Zwane as the head coach.

Zwane and Vilakazi had done a good job to inspire a massive turnaround at Usuthu after a poor start to the campaign under former coach Pablo Franco Martin who lost the first three league matches after the club finished 11th last season.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Makaab explained that Vilakazi has deep issues and they are supporting him through them.
"He's got some certain personal issues that he has to attend to. They are deep issues and we are here to support him. We are going to help him through this difficult time. I believe that once these matters have been dealt with, he will be back sooner than later," Makaab told Soccer Laduma.

Vilakazi is expected to take a break from the game and return when the time is right to start coaching in the top flight again, should opportunities come his way.
"He's a talented young coach and, with a clear mind, we hope to see him back on the field soon. It's a little bit of a sabbatical. We'll help him through the process of what he is going through and we will take it from there."
