Saleng V Kgositsile: Pirates Star Could Still Have A Bucs Future

Saleng V Kgositsile: Pirates Star Could Still Have A Bucs Future

Despite speculation about Monnapule Saleng's future at Orlando Pirates, there remains a possibility that the talented winger could still have a role to play at the club, according to close sources.

While some believe that Saleng may have already played his last game for the Buccaneers, sources close to the club have suggested that his situation is not entirely closed.

It has been nearly four months since Saleng last featured for Pirates, with his most recent appearance coming in December against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League.

During this period, the club has been linked with a move for Baroka FC's Kabelo Kgositsile, who is seen as a direct replacement for Saleng.

It is understood that the Soweto giants have reached an agreement for the 20-year-old to conclude the move at the end of the season.

This has fuelled speculation that Pirates may be planning for a future without Saleng. However, insiders indicate that Saleng's potential departure is not yet set in stone. If all differences between the involved parties are resolved, there is still a chance for the player to continue his career with the club.

As of now, Pirates have not issued an official statement regarding his long-term future. The club had previously referred to his absence as 'temporary' in January, while his representatives from P Management Sports described the situation as an employer-employee matter that requires resolution.

With no concrete decision made public, Saleng's future at Pirates remains uncertain. However, should discussions progress positively, fans may yet see him donning the black and white jersey again in the future.

"Pirates are a club that likes to beef up with quality players in every position, and therefore that (Kgositsile signing) cannot be seen as affecting him (Saleng). It's the matter that is for the club and his handlers and it has nothing to do with his performances on the field. If it gets sorted in the office before the end of the season, there is chance that he can return to the field, as far as I understand," said the source.
