Agent Mike Makaab has revealed that his client Samkelo Zwane is determined to fight for his place at Kaizer Chiefs and they would need to reassess the player's situation if things do not improve.
Zwane, who came through the DStv Diski Challenge side at Amakhosi, has only featured five times for the Soweto giants in 2025. The arrival of Thabo Cele in the January transfer window has limited the opportunities he's had in the matchday squad, as he's not featured since February.

In total, the 23-year-old has made 14 appearances in all competitions, but has not been able to stamp his authority in the Amakhosi midfield.
Makaab explained to the Siya crew that they are not too worried about the player's situation as yet. He remains committed to fighting for his place, but the situation will be assessed if things do not improve in terms of him getting more opportunities in the first team.
"I am close with his father, Eugene. I coached Eugene (at Pirates), so we have a strong relationship. We speak to each other on a regular basis and obviously it's a concern when a football player is not playing. But these are the challenges that we all go through in our lives and it's how we react to these challenges that determine how far we go with our career," Makaab said to the Siya crew.

"Obviously, it's important for a young talented player like Samkelo to get game time, but we've got to look at the circumstances and we've got to hope that those circumstances change. If they don't, then there is a decision that has to be made. He is still determined to fight for his place. What's saddening is that he did really well. Unfortauntely he picked up a card and ended up being suspended and, sadly, has not regained his position. He's got a great attitude and character. It's a matter of working hard and really doing the best he can do every single day. If things don't change, then it make sense to relook at the situation and future."
