Makgopa, who was crucial for Hugo Broos' team finishing third at the Africa Cup of Nations last year, and together with Tshegofatso Mabasa, Makgopa has been an important player in a Pirates team fighting for multiple trophies this season.
While a second insider privy to information around the Pirates camp has reaffirmed that Mabasa and Makgopa would be at the club next year, as previously reported by Soccer Laduma, they indicated the club is also looking to bring in at least one or two more strikers during the off-season.
"They are looking at building a very strong team next season. Bucs are happy with their midfield, but they would want to bolster the striking department and that's why apart from making sure that they retain these two, they are set to add more strikers next season," the second insider stated.
Soccer Laduma contacted Pirates for comment but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
