From Streets To Screens: UGS Street Kings Come To Life

The excitement is building as we gear up for the inaugural UGS Street Kings 3v3 Street Soccer Tournament, the first event of its kind in the world! Set to take place in the major cities of South Africa including Joburg, Cape Town and Durban.  This groundbreaking tournament promises to redefine the way we experience street soccer and celebrate community engagement.

What makes this event truly unique?

The 3v3 format, featuring teams of three battling it out in fast-paced matches, showcases skill, creativity, and teamwork in uniquely created courts. This first-of-its-kind tournament is not just about the competition; it's a celebration of culture, bringing together local players and soccer enthusiasts for a thrilling day of action.

The beauty about UGS is about experiencing the beautiful game in a unique format. At each level the courts change, teams will not play in a rectangle, sometimes it's in a cage and other times not. The ways teams win is also different, it's not just about goals, it's about the points. Teams get points for scoring goals, hitting target and the, shibobo. This is the one constant rule in all games, the shibobo. The player who executes the shibobo gets points, whilst the played who is shibobo'ed or dissed loses points and goes off the field of play for 30 seconds.

In an exciting development, ETV will broadcast this unforgettable event over a 13-episode series, allowing audiences far and wide to witness the energy and passion of this historic tournament. Each episode will highlight thrilling matchups, player profiles, and captivating behind-the-scenes moments, ensuring fans are immersed in the spirit of street soccer.

"This tournament is a dream come true for us as well as street soccer lovers everywhere," said Adriano Franco, One of the creators of UGS. "We're excited to engage the community, promote local talent, and showcase the excitement of 3v3 soccer on a global stage through our partnership with ETV."

Registration for participating teams is open until 20th May 2025. All skill levels are welcome, as it's not only about winning but the actual experience of playing in unique courts with unique rules and enjoying the experience with the street soccer community to create an electric atmosphere.
