After a narrow 2-1 win over Venda Football Academy in the Nedbank Cup, Jose Riveiro revealed that he was left surprised by level shown by the Motsepe Foundation Championship side and commended them for their bravery.
Riveiro says he was caught by surprise by VFA's tactical flexibility and will hope to get through another lower-league side in the form giant killing Dondol Stars in the NBK Cup quarter-finals.
Here's how the readers reacted to Riveiro in the "Pirates Coach Appreciates Lesson From Venda" story:
"This guy is a plumber... in a soccer field," says thamib65566.
"The coach is taking chances with our club this man is clueless... how do you play Mako on right when you have right footed players - this is very confusing to say the least," says tm194441.
"The guy philosophy does not suit Bucs, he deploys a lone striker no matter the opposition. Small teams playing low block look good as its easier marking one player while our strikers are frustrated," says @Normz.
"If you can stop this thing of playing Mako out of position, you make him a cow and he suffers the wrath of the fans. Secondly, this favouritsm of Hotto and Dlamini will make you lose your job, Ben Motshwari and Monyane are quality players, Give other kids the chance, like Makgopa who was once Bafana's top striker," says bphakathi.

Amakhosi head coach Arthur Zwane has reacted to comments made by former teammate Junior Khanye, who's been criticising Chiefs and Zwane's tactics all season long.
Zwane quietly hit back at Khanye by saying that critics are a part of the game and that he won't stoop down to his level.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "Why Zwane Won't Stoop To Junior Khanye's Level" story:
"You sound professional Coach, you don't let emotions dictate your response," says pgyakeni.
"...Zwane has done so well given the weak defensive and striking individuals. He will be the best coach when the correct players, who understand his philosophy come around," says Soccer Intellectual.
"I agree with Khanye whatever he says about this Zwane, he's not good enough for Chiefs," says @Terry2007.
