Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela has been under a lot scrutiny from Amakhosi supporters.
This may be due to the fact that "Jola" has not really lived up to the expectations of most of the Chiefs faithful. There has been no new addition of silverware to the Naturena trophy cabinet since Komphela became Stuart Baxter's successor in 2015.
With the Kroonstad-born coach's contract expiry date fast approaching, the pressure continues to mount, and whether or not he will remain at Phefeni next season remains vague.
Despite all the criticism thrown at Komphela, one of our Supporters Club member and Amakhosi fan, dark.city, has taken it upon himself to assure the coach that some of the fans do actually recognise and appreciate the tactician's "hard work".
"Steve, my coach. Don't worry, some of us can see the results of your hard work so far. Even if you don't win any cup this season, we will be happy to have you as our coach again next season. You deserve that much, Steve. I just wish that the Motaungs can give you another season because you deserve it. Those who are asking for your resignation will turn and ask for your signature once you start winning cups. Amakhosi for life." – dark.city
Would you say some Chiefs' supporters are harsh on Komphela?
