The Nedbank Cup presents a final opportunity to win silverware for Chiefs, who last won a major honour ten years ago.
Chiefs come into this evening's clash winless in their last four league matches, which includes two draw and two losses.
Sundowns, meanwhile, were involved in continental action on Tuesday evening as they played to a goalless draw against Esperance in Tunis, which was enough to seal a spot in the semi-finals.
Miguel Cardoso's men needed extra-time to defeat Sekhukhune United in the last round, while Chiefs defeated Stellenbosch 3-1.
As previously stated, this will be the fourth meeting between the two sides this campaign, as Sundowns won both league encounters while they also thrashed Chiefs 4-0 in the Carling Knockout.
