As Magesi FC battles to retain their spot in the Betway Premiership next season, the club is already planning their squad for the upcoming campaign. A key focus is keeping on-loan striker Thabang Sibanyoni, who joined in January from Richards Bay United, where he was also on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Insiders close to the club revealed to Soccer Laduma that Sibanyoni's performances have impressed both the technical team and management, prompting their desire to keep him beyond this season.

"The technical team has already decided on which players they want for next season and Thabang (Sibanyoni) is one of them. Yes they know he is on loan from Sundowns and they are believed to have enquired about his availability for next season. It's nor clear at the moment whether they will go for another loan or permanently but they want to keep him for next season, " the insider revealed to Siya crew.
Another source suggested that Sundowns, who are working on downsizing their squad, may be open to extending Sibanyoni's stay at Magesi.
"It seems Sundowns will be willing to let him stay at Magesi as they are working on the downsizing of the squad but not sure on the issue of a loan deal or a permanent move. But they want their players to have game time wherever they are and if Magesi wants to keep Thabang (Sibanyoni ) for at least next season," the source observed.
Since joining Magesi in January, the 29-year-old striker has featured in eight games, scoring twice. This marks an improvement from his stint at Richards Bay United earlier this season, where he made seven appearances without finding the back of the net.
When approached for comment, Magesi FC PRO Abel Rakoma neither confirmed nor denied the club's intention to keep Sibanyoni.
"I don't want to give an individual response. I can only say it when the team as a collective has the answer for that. So for now there is nothing I can as from an individual point of view," Rakoma told Soccer Laduma.
Whether Magesi secures Sibanyoni for another season will depend on upcoming negotiations, but his recent form highlights him as a valuable asset for their campaign.
