Fagrie Lakay is seemingly taking a leaf out of Percy Tau's book in his ongoing situation with his club Pyramids FC, according to reports in Egypt and the Soccer Laduma newspaper.

Like Percy Tau, Lakay is believed to have been deemed surplus to requirements at Pyramids.
This comes as a shock considering that the player recently put pen to paper on a contract extension with the club where he has been plying his trade for the past three seasons since signing from Cape Town City in 2022.
However, Egyptian media have reported that Pyramids are eyeing a four-player swap deal that would see Lakay as well as the trio of Mohamed Reda Youssef, Ossama Nabih, and Abdallah Magdy - plus cash, to land the highly-rated Sodiq Awujoola from Ceremica Cleopatra.
However, the Siya crew has been informed that Lakay has followed in the footsteps of Tau, as reported by Egyptian media.
The Soccer Laduma newspaper reported how Lakay is adamant in receiving all monetary values that is due to him if he were to leave, and by law, is well within his rights to do so unless his contract stipulates otherwise.
The player is reported to be on a package of around $650 000 (±R11.7 million) per annum, and is understood to be demanding that the full amount be paid to him in order for him to leave and become a free agent.
The club seemingly have other plans, as they look to loan out the player for the 2024/25 season, meaning that his contract would reach its expiry date upon the conclusion of the campaign - something that is believed to have been rejected by Lakay.
Lakay formed a crucial part of the club's setup last season, netting an impressive 12 goals and four assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.
You can read much more about Lakay's situation at Pyramids FC in the Siya Special in Thursday's Edition of the Soccer Laduma newspaper.
