Riveiro Makes Changes To Pirates Squad

It seems like there have been a few changes made to the Orlando Pirates squad ahead of the 2024/25 Premiership season.

Following the official release of the League's fixtures for the new season by the PSL yesterday, it has been confirmed that Pirates will begin their campaign with a home fixture against Chippa United in Orlando on September 14.

The next four fixtures for the Buccaneers will be against Cape Town City (A), Polokwane City (H), Richards Bay FC (A) and AmaZulu (H).

At that time, the team will have played both their preliminary CAF Champions League matches against Disciples of Madagascar, as well as their two MTN8 semi-final fixtures against Cape Town City.

In confirming the squad at the beginning of August, Bucs had Boitumelo Radiopane who returned from a loan spell with Cape Town Spurs included in the team, as well as young goalkeeper Bayanda Zulu and Azola Matrose who has since completed a return to Chippa United.

Zulu had been with Pirates during their pre-season camp in Spain along with another young goalkeeper in Siyabonga Dladla.

In finalising their preparations for the Champions League, Bucs have issued a list of registered players for the competition which includes new signing Deano van Rooyen, while the names of Radiopane and Zulu have been excluded.

Stand a chance to win a Mamelodi Sundowns Home and Away Replica shirts for the 2024/25 season; valued at R1199 per shirt.
