In the wake of Orlando Pirates' recent announcement that current head coach Jose Riveiro will part ways with the club at the end of the season, a familiar figure has come forward with a heartfelt message – former Pirates head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic.
Speaking exclusively to the Siya crew, Sredojevic – who has had two coaching stints with the Buccaneers – reflected on his deep-rooted connection with the club and expressed his enduring loyalty to the Soweto giants.

"I highly value and sincerely appreciate your approach towards me," Micho said when asked about the club's coaching situation.
"I was on two different occasions a loyal servant of the badge as head coach of Orlando Pirates. With the club's motto Once and Always, I have remained a loyal supporter of the club despite being physically far away."
Sredojevic, who now leads Sudanese giants Al-Merrikh following his appointment in January, stopped short of commenting on whether he would be open to returning to the Pirates dugout.
However, his words carried the unmistakable tone of someone who still holds the black and white close to his heart.
"I was, I am, and I will forever stay with my heart, soul and mind an authentic Buccaneer, counting Orlando Pirates as my wholehearted home away from home," he said.
The Serbian tactician was full of praise for the club's leadership and technical team, including Riveiro and chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza.
"I have absolute human and sport respect for all what Dr. Irvin Khoza, my African football father, with his management together with distinguished, recognised, humble and amazing coach Riviero and his technical team, as well as magnificent, gallant, talented, quality team of players for what they are doing. To us spiritual owners, the supporters – we are proud of them."
With the Buccaneers still competing on three fronts – the CAF Champions League, the Betway Premiership, and the Nedbank Cup – Sredojevic urged the club to maintain full focus on the competitions at hand.
"Instead of bending attention away from the football field, I want them to put total focus and concentration on ongoing competitions. What will happen after is beyond me, and I would not comment, but I will remain wherever I am and whatever I do, a proud member of the Sea Robbers family."
Micho's words will undoubtedly resonate with the Pirates faithful, many of whom still hold fond memories of his time at the helm, especially during his second stint from 2017 to 2019, where he helped restore the club's competitive edge.

As the club prepares to bid farewell to Riveiro, speculation will inevitably swirl about who might take over.
While Micho has neither confirmed nor denied interest in returning, his emotional message makes one thing clear – his heart still beats for the Buccaneers.
