The Siya crew has been informed of the efforts to place South American talent Raphael Lopes with clubs in the Betway Premiership, as the transfer window looms closer.
The 26-year-old Brazilian striker, who is currently playing for Hamrun Spartans in the Maltese Premier League, is believed to be eager to make the switch to South Africa’s topflight, with interest believed to be directed towards the country’s “Big Three” – Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Lopes joined Hamrun Spartans last year from Brazilian outfit Caldense and is nearing the end of his current contract, which expires in June.
With his future uncertain in Europe, sources close to the player suggest he is eager to explore new opportunities in the PSL.
According to insiders, Pirates – who are actively on the lookout for firepower up front and recently offered a trial to Zambian international Andrew Phiri – are expected to be the first club approached regarding Lopes’ availability.
While no official approach has been made yet, all three of the PSL giants are believed to be on the radar as potential destinations for the forward, whose profile could suit the fast-paced, technical style of the local game.
There is also a reported interest from Sudanese giants Al Hilal, who are in the market for attacking reinforcements.

However, Lopes is said to favour a move to Mzansi should the opportunity arise.
“The player’s representatives are assessing options for him and a move to the PSL is not being ruled out. Pirates, Chiefs and Sundowns will all be contacted as this is top talent we are talking about here from Brazil, and he will be a good addition to any of the big clubs,” said the source.
