The story
Orlando Pirates youth product Jabulani Mokone, who is currently on loan at Upington City, brought smiles to many as he took over the gloves and stepped in goal!
The talented right-back made the temporary move to the Northern Cape in January, in a deal that until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Mokone played a part in this season's Carling All-Star team coached by Jose Riveiro, which went on to beat Magesi FC 3-0 in the Carling Black Label Cup last month.
It was the second season running that Mokone, the 21-year-old who can feature at both right-back and as an attacker, was voted in to take part by the supporters.
Perhaps taking inspiration from Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana utility player, Thapelo Morena, Mokone wanted to try his hand at goalkeeping during a training session.
Mokone is likely to feature for Brandon Truter's Upington City when they take on Motsepe Foundation Championship leaders, Durban City at the Chatsworth Stadium on Friday afternoon and in case of an emergency, it seems like the pint-sized baller is ready to test his skills as a keeper.
