AmaZulu FC president Sandile Zungu wants his club to end an unwanted record when they face Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup on Sunday.
Usuthu can be regarded as one of the most improved clubs in South Africa in the last two years but still struggle to win against the Buccaneers, even on their best days.
As Zungu wants to see his club counted alongside the best teams in the country, the club president still feels not beating Orlando Pirates in the last three years, is something that needs to come to an end.
"We promised our fans that soon when you count four best teams in South Africa, AmaZulu FC will be there. For now when you play Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, you play teams that always want to win the league," Zungu said, addressing the media.
"In our time as Usuthu leaders, we are still yet to beat Pirates out of those big teams. Last season we drew, this seeson too. We are playing them in the Nedbank Cup and we want to beat them."
The Durban based side did not start the season very well and according to their boss, beating the mighty Bucs, will give them motivation to have a better second round.
"We want to make sure we beat all the teams this year, starting with Pirates in the Nedbank cup. We haven't done well so far and we want to make sure we rectify that in the second round."
