As Mamelodi Sundowns prepare to face Cape Town Spurs away from home this evening, Soccer Laduma looks at how the Tshwane giants can repeat last season's record of winning the DSTV Premiership with seven matches to spare.
Last season, Sundowns wrapped up the title after 23 matches, as Rulani Mokwena's men ran riot to clinch the championship in record time.

With 19 matches played this season, the Premiership leaders have an opportunity to repeat that feat, but it's not completely in their hands, with Stellenbosch FC having a role to play in it.
Currently on 49 points, Sundowns would need to win their next four fixtures to wrap up the title. The 12 points would take them to 62 points after 23 matches, which would be enough to wrap up the title if second-placed Stellenbosch dropped three points during this period.
After facing Spurs tonight, Sundowns will take on Moroka Swallows away from home, Sekhukhune United on home soil and then travel to face struggling Kaizer Chiefs.
Sundowns, however, might not want to wrap up the title so early, considering how they took their foot off the pedal last season once they had won the championship early. They went on to get knocked out in the CAF Champions League and went as far as the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup.

Head coach Rulani Mokwena will definitely have this mind and would probably have a plan in place, in case they do wrap up the title early again.
