The story
Last week, Betway Premiership outfit Stellenbosch FC paid a visit to four schools across three days to inspire the next generation of the Cape Winelands' footballers.
The club, alongside one of their sponsors Rama, donated around 500 balls and kits to the learners in the area, who got to rub shoulders and kick a ball with the Stellies stars such as Lee Langeveldt, Omega Mdaka and Devin Titus among others.
"I remember growing up in this part of the world and we didn't have a professional football club and now we have one. I'm honoured and privileged to still be playing the game and to do it in front of my family," said club captain, Langeveldt on the club and Rama's schools initiative.
"Hopefully myself and others who are from Stellenbosch can inspire the youngsters from here to maybe, one day, play professional football," he added, speaking at Idas Valley Primary School.
