The story
Ahead of Orlando Pirates' crucial CAF Champions League (CAFCL) semi-final second-leg clash away at Pyramids FC in Cairo, Rooi Mahamutsa shared an inspiring flashback moment for the Buccaneers to be inspired by.
Mahamutsa was at the Buccaneers for nearly a decade and was part of the 2012/13 Bucs side that made it to the final of Africa's elite club competition.
Jose Riveiro's men are the first Pirates side to make it this far in the CAFCL since Roger De Sa led the Soweto giants to a final against eventual winners, Al Ahly.
On their way to the 2013 final, the Buccaneers defeated Esperance de Tunis in the semifinals. They advanced on the away-goals rule after finishing with a 1-1 draw in the second leg, courtesy of a thundering Mahamutsa header in Tunisia.
The 43-year-old took to his Instagram account to reshare the goal, captioning it, "It's that time, Buccaneers. Road to the final."
Former Bucs captain Happy Jele, who wore the armband in that encounter, followed Mahamutsa in posting the goal and a picture of the side that included the likes of Andile Jali, Sifiso Myeni, Daine Klate, Oupa Manyisa, Tlou Segolela and the late Senzo Meyiwa.
