While majority of football has been suspended due to COVID-19, One top flight league in Europe has not been suspended and it has now been explained why.
All of Europe's biggest leagues and football around world has suspended their seasons due to the outbreak, except the the top flight league in Belarus.
According to ESPN, there were 351 confirmed cases of the coranvirus as well as four deaths as of April 3, which is not as significant as other major European nations.
Belarus FA's general secretary Sergei Zhardetski told ESPN he sees no reason for stopping the league at the moment.
"We review the situation on a daily basis," Zhardetski said. "We fully trust our health care system and there are currently no reasons for stopping the league.
"We understand that the situation in some countries is very serious but having consulted with the corresponding authorities in Belarus we have an understanding that our league can continue for the moment."
When asked about being dubbed the "last league on earth", Zhardetski added,""It is what it is," he said. "We did not ask for this label, but the situation in Belarus is really not that critical to close the tournament."
