SAFA Communications Manager, Dominic Chimhavi, confirmed this on his official twitter account; "SAFA is having a press conference to put the record straight regarding AFCON 2015. The presser is at SAFA House at 12h00, " tweeted the FA communications man.
It has been reported in the previous weeks that Morocco had requested the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to postpone the biennial football tournament and that CAF's executive committee were scheduled to convene on November 2 in Algiers to discuss the Ebola-inspired request from Morocco.
Since it has been announced that either Egypt or South Africa could step in as alternative host, there has been large outpour of emotions from the South African public, expressing the same fears as Morocco over the Ebola threat.
"A large cry of emotions has come from the South African public regarding Morocco's fears and intended withdrawal from hosting the 2015 African Cup of Nations and the possibility of South Africa hosting the event. We want to set the record straight at SAFA," said Chimhavi to the Siya crew.
