The Los Blancos were defeated 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium in the first-leg clash and the result placed increasing pressure on Ancelotti, and whether or not he will be in the dugout come the start of next season.
Spanish publication Madrid Universal reported that Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano said Ancelotti could be sacked at the end of the current season if the 15-time European winners fail to beat The Gunners and progress to the semi-finals.
Romano reportedly said that there was a 50-50 chance of Ancelotti staying or leaving but the former Chelsea manager's future was dependent on the result against Arsenal on Wednesday night.
The reports also revealed that the Spanish giants have been long-time admirers of former Real Madrid midfielder and current Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso, who has been tipped to replace Ancelotti ahead of next season.
The journalist previously reported that the Italian manager was adamant he would still be in charge of the Madrid giants come next season.
"My contract is pretty clear," Romano reported Ancelotti saying.
"I have one more year and the club always supports me."
