The singer spoke to Spanish publication El Mundo a couple of weeks ago and it's now being reported she let it slip that De Gea will soon join her in Madrid.
When asked how she was coping with the couple's long-distance relationship, she replied: "Now, when he's in Madrid, it'll all be easier."
Los Blancos remain keen on signing De Gea this season, despite having bought Kiko Casilla.
Casilla will compete with Keylor Navas for the first-choice spot, unless De Gea joins the Madrid club before the transfer window closes.
So far, United and Real have not been able to agree on a fee for De Gea, with the La Liga giants reportedly not prepared to meet the Red Devils' asking price.
Recent reports suggest that manager Louis van Gaal is even considering dropping De Gea to the bench in his side's Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
