In the wake of Barcelona's disappointing results against Inter Milan and Real Madrid, captain Sergio Busquets has received criticism that has reportedly left him upset and determined to leave the club at the end of the season.
Xavi Under Pressure? Barca Linked With Two Managers
The veteran Spain international has been singled out for his performances in recent matches, with the Catalan giants being held to a 3-3 draw by Inter in the UEFA Champions League last week and losing 3-1 to Los Blancos on Sunday.
Busquets is said to feel annoyed by the criticism directed towards him from fans, journalists and pundits, believing he has been shown a lack of respect.
According to Mundo Deportivo, while usually a "level-headed customer" who can handle pressure, the 34-year-old is said to have responded badly to what has been said about his recent displays for the Catalan-based side.
It is claimed that Busquets still plans to see out of the season at Barcelona before he moves on to the next chapter in what has been an incredible career.
The midfielder's current deal in Spain expires at the end of this campaign, after which he is likely to seek a move to the MLS, with David Beckham's Inter Miami having previously been linked with his signature.
Busquets is among Barca's record appearance-makers after he was introduced to the first team in 2008 by then-head coach Pep Guardiola.
