Venue: Emirates Stadium
Jurrien Timber, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Mikel Merino dropped to the bench with one eye on Wednesday's clash against Real Madrid, with Kieran Tierney, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jorginho, Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri recalled.
The Gunners looked lively in the early stages of the encounter, as Gabriel Martinelli was denied by Bees goalkeeper Mark Flekken while Thomas Partey's dangerous header back into the box caused all sorts of problems.
Brentford were by no means outplayed in the early stages, but they did struggle to get on the ball and failed to provide any real threat on the counter.
Arsenal had the ball in the back of the net after 26 minutes when Kieran Tierney nodded home Nwaneri's cross, but the celebrations were cut short due to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) spotting an offside.
That proved to be the final big moment of the first half, as Brentford really disappointed in the final third although they did frustrate their North London counterparts.
The opening goal arrived on the hour mark as Thomas Partey rifled the ball beyond Flekken after being teed up by Declan Rice, who went on a surging run from his own half.
However, Brentford got themselves back on level terms in the 74th minute as Yoane Wissa bagged his 15th league goal of the campaign with a clinical volley after some good work by Nathan Collins.
The Gunners had already introduced Saka and Odegaard, with the former going close to grabbing a late winner with a curling effort from distance that sailed just wide of the of upright as the points were shared.
Liverpool now need nine more points to clinch the league title.
