Tempers seemed to be at a fever pitch last weekend when the 2022/23 Premier League top two squared off, with the Gunners going home with a narrow 1-0 victory.
While it was the north Londoners who landed a blow to City's 2023/24 league title aspirations, the two sides got into a physical altercation when things became heated between City duo Erling Haaland and Kyle Walker and Arsenal set-piece coach Nicolas Jover just after full-time.
Just minutes before that, however, Brazilian duo Jesus and Ederson clashed briefly when the shot-stopper clattered into his international teammate after he kicked the ball away following a foul being awarded to City.
The two players were both given yellow cards, but when the Arsenal striker was asked if the clash caused a rift in their relationship, he told members of the media, as per the Evening Standard: "I have a good relationship, not just with Ederson. But on the pitch it's normal.
"Ederson and I spent a lot of time together at City and we were very happy. He knows how fond I am of him and I also know how fond he is of me.
"But on the pitch he defends his team and I defend mine. It was a moment when we were winning and it's not easy to beat them.
