With two months of the 2023/24 season having already passed, here is a look at the 12 leading goalscorers across Europe's top five leagues so far. Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland are on the list, but none of them are close to the surprise leader of the pack!

The new campaign has so far been filled with entertainment, but who across Europe's five strongest leagues – the Premier League, LALIGA, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 – has impressed the most when it comes to goals?

Three players, namely Tottenham Hotspur's Heung-min Son, Bayern Munich's Leroy Sane and Newcastle United's Alexander Isak have amassed six league goals in the opening eight weeks of the 2023/24 season, along with Napoli's Victor Osimhen.

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, meanwhile, has found the back of the net on seven occasions, as has Wolfsburg forward Jonas Wind and Bayer Leverkusen's Victor Boniface, a Nigerian striker who is currently earning widespread praise in Germany.

Here are the 12 leading goalscorers in Europe's top five leagues so far this season:

The 22-year-old is considered to be among Africa's top up-and-coming footballers for the form he is showing under Xabi Alonso at Leverkusen, who are first in the Bundesliga at the moment, having won six of their opening seven games.

Erling Haaland's eight Premier League goals for Manchester City see the Norwegian tied in third place with Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham and Bayern's Harry Kane, who has taken to German football like a duck to water.

The England international might be looking at his former club, Tottenham Hotspur, and wishing he had worked under a manager in north London like Ange Postecoglou, but he will be hoping his form in front of goal can help inspire the Bavarians to continental success.

Second in the goalscoring ranking on 10 goals is Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez, who recently made headlines for striking four times in a single league match, while Stuttgart's Serhou Guirassy, with 13, is currently the most lethal scorer in Europe's top five divisions.
