Mali & Chiefs Scout Maliwa To Spread Wings In Malawi

Maliwa has earned a reputation as one of South Africa's top scouts, attracting interest from across the continent.

The symposium, organised by Malawian-based consulting firm SM Sports Consulting, aims to equip African scouts and clubs with essential skills in modern scouting and performance analysis. Speaking to Soccer Laduma, SM Sports Consulting director Felix Ngamanya Sapao confirmed Maliwa’s participation alongside Sinesipho Mali from South Africa.

"After consultations with the Technical Director, he advised that the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has a tight program this year, and would not be able to include the 2nd edition of the Technical Scouting and Performance Analysis course into its schedule of 2025 courses. We are therefore pleased to advise that we, Digital Arts Media and Sports Private Limited have concluded with SM Sports Consulting and will be organising the symposium commercially in Malawi this year, 2025," Sapao told the Siya crew.

Sapao emphasized Maliwa’s reputation as a leader in the scouting field, saying, "It will be conducted by Sinesipho Mali and Tera Maliwa, from South Africa. They are good in this field and that's why we have gone with them," Sapao added.

In addition to scouting and recruitment, Maliwa will delve into broader football-related topics, such as performance analysis, technical sponsorship, and how to ensure brands receive the benefits and exposure promised through sponsorship deals.

"They will also talk about performance analysis, technical sponsorship and also how to ensure that sponsors receive the agreed upon benefits and brand exposure which is very important in football and our guests know this much better and that's why we have chosen then to be the ones addressing these issues," Sapao concluded.

Maliwa, who previously worked for Mamelodi Sundowns, also has extensive experience identifying talent and shaping recruitment strategies.
