Sobhi was an unused substitute for the first leg against the Soweto Giants in Johannesburg on Sunday 20 April as the two sides played out a goalless draw.
Egyptian publication Sport Elwatan denied reports that Pyramids head coach Krunoslav Jurcic deliberately omitted Sobhi from the starting lineup.
A club source said told the aforementioned publication that Sobhi remained unused due to previous knee injury he suffered but he is set to feature in the return leg.
"Ramadan Sobhi was sitting on the bench because he is still suffering from severe inflammation in his knee, which is the reason for his absence from the first leg," the source said. "He is being prepared to be used in the next match."
The source added that the former Al Ahly and Stoke City winger was not booked and was being prepared to play in Egypt this week.
