With this move, Genoa becomes the 12th club Balotelli has played for since he burst on to the scene in Italy in 2006.
The 34-year-old last represented Adana Demirspor, whom he parted ways with in July this year after contributing to eight goals in 16 appearances last term.
Balotelli last appeared for a team in one of Europe's top five leagues in a short spell at AC Monza between 2020 and July 2021.
Since then, he has played in Switzerland for Sion and had two stints at Adana Demirspor.
It is believed Balotelli remained patient during negotiations with Genoa after holding several conversations with head coach Alberto Gilardino.
