Today I was drawn into buying SL's issue no 1098 by seeing Portia Modise on the cover. I read her interview and I was blown away. I was impressed by her honesty and I was touched by the state of women's football in SA particularly the treatment they receive from those who should be protecting them, SAFA!

I fear for Portia, that her honesty will make her untouchable... She may never improve her life because of speaking truth to power. Football Lords in South Africa do not want people who are outspoken and honest, they want 'yes my lordsss... '

I wonder, why is the talented Portia not on Supersport or Sabc when Amanda is there? Modise deserves better!
