The story
Just days after Chiefs suffered a major setback when the talented defender Rushwin Dortley was confirmed to have sustained a significant injury, the youngster shared his first words since going under the knife.
Dortley, who joined Amakhosi from Motsepe Foundation Championship side Cape Town Spurs in July 2024, quickly became an essential part of the Chiefs squad. In his early months with the team, he formed a solid centre-back partnership with Miguel Inacio and quickly earned the trust of coach Nasreddine Nabi.
The left-footed defender has made 21 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as one of the standout players in the Premiership.
However, Dortley suffered a knee injury earlier this month, which will keep him out for the rest of the season.
"As my season comes to an end due to an injury, I would like to thank @kcfcofficial my teammates and all the Amakhosi faithful for all the support throughout the season. Heading towards the road of recovery to come back stronger," wrote Dortley on Instagram.
