The story
Mamelodi Sundowns shot-stopper Ronwen Williams is growing his personal branding profile after sharing footage of his campaign with a South African fast-food chicken restaurant, Tasty Gallos.
Williams has not featured for Sundowns after reportedly suffering an injury in the 1-0 defeat to TS Galaxy early in February. Indications are that Williams has a lower back problem, which has kept him out of action in Downs' last five league matches.
"High-pressure moments? I've handled plenty, but THIS might be my toughest challenge yet! Grilled or Fried? What's YOUR pick," wrote "Ronza" in his sponsored IG post, with an almost comedic ad of him delivering his lines rather awkwardly.
The 2024 CAF Men's Goalkeeper of the Year might not be a natural in front of the camera, but his on-field exploits will garner him plenty of brand attention in the near future.
