The story
Unattached Amakhosi legend, Itumeleng Khune has taken to social media to pay tribute to his ex-teammate at the club, Nigeria international shot-stopper, Daniel Akpeyi.
Akpeyi recently parted ways with Gallants after being brought on when Bahlabane Ba Ntwa acquired the status of Moroka Swallows last year.
Having made just three league appearances this season, the 38-year-old's last appearance came back in September against Mamelodi Sundowns where he conceded three goals before being substituted.
The former Chippa United keeper posted compilation video on Instagram of his best saves, ranging from his days at the Glamour Boys as well as the Super Eagles.
Khune, who shared a changeroom with Akpeyi for nearly four years at Chiefs, reposted the video on his IG stories and wrote, "One of the best to grace our shores. Respect Papa D."
The high praise from Khune was well received by Akpeyi, who responded, "Skipper, you are simply the best. Big love."
