Bafana Bafana star Elias Mokwana could leave Tunisian side Esperance due to a reported contract breach between club and player, while Kaizer Chiefs and European clubs are believed to be interested in signing him, the Siya crew investigates.
Mokwana's future remains uncertain, and there is a possibility that he could even stay on in Tunisia, depending on the conclusion of this legal matter.

The player's agent, Pontsho Madumo, confirmed to Soccer Laduma that there is an issue between the player and the club, but he didn't want to go into details as the situation is still developing. Madumo stated that the lawyer is dealing with financial issues between each party.
"Yes, there are issues going on with Elias (Mokwana) and Esperance but at the moment they are still confidential. I can't say much because the lawyer is handling everything as that is a legal matter. So, yes, there is an issue and we are waiting to find out what will unfold through the lawyer," Madumo told the Siya crew.
A second insider stated that if the contractual obligations are not met by Esperance, then Mokwana could leave the club for 'free'. That could potentially open a path for clubs such as Chiefs.
"Esperance haven't paid and that's the problem. So, if they fail to pay, then they will agree to terminate his contract. They haven't paid some of his money that was agreed in the contract when he joined Esperance and that money is the one that they have breached. So, if they terminate his contract then he will be a free agent,' the second insider stated.

A third Siya source close to the player provided a different perspective, stating that while Mokwana's future is in question right now, he could still stay at Esperance. The source added that it's not definitive that he will leave Tunisia, that there are ongoing discussions, and if these issues are resolved, then he could remain at his current club.
Mokwana reportedly joined Esperance in pre-season after turning down Chiefs. Now, there is also interest from two clubs in France, Montpellier and Nice, as first reported by Soccer Laduma.
With his outstanding performances continuing for both club and country, Soccer Laduma had previously spoken to a fourth insider about how European clubs are notably tracking Mokwana.
"The way things are going, it seems like every week there is a new team coming up and inquiring about Elias (Mokwana). I think it's his form for both club and country that is attracting these interested clubs. For now, another French team, Nice, is believed to have sent their scouts and recruiters to Tunisia, and they were impressed with what they saw in him," said the fourth Siya source a week ago.
It remains to be seen if Mokwana would remain at Esperance, and even if he is able to leave as a free agent, Chiefs may face competition for his signature from the likes of Nice.
