Another French Club Interested In Mokwana

With his great performances continuing for both club and country, another French team has joined the race for Tunisia-based Bafana Bafana star Elias Mokwana.

As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, French Ligue 1 side Montpellier FC are interested in Mokwana too.

Now, news reaching the Siya crew is that another Ligue 1 side has joined the race for the former Sekhukhune United forward, according to insiders privy to information.

Siya sources very close to the player have indicated that OGC Nice, have inquired about the 25-year-old Bafana player.

"The way things are going is like every week there is a new team coming up and inquiring about Elias (Mokwana). I think it's his form for both club and country that is attracting these interested clubs. For now, another French team, Nice are believed to have sent their scouts and recruiters to Tunisia and they were impressed with what they saw in him," said the Siya source.

"Remember he even scored in a derby and his team won the game. Things are actually looking good for him and he could soon find himself in Europe," the source added.

A second Siya source stated that a Belgian club is still following his progress too, and a decision could be made soon from their side.

"The Belgian side was the first one interested even before he went to Esperance. Then came Montpellier from France. And now it's Nice from France. The (unnamed) Belgian side is still following his progress both in Tunisia and at the national team (of South Africa). His chances of moving to Europe are looking good and that will benefit Sekhukhune United as well because there is a clause in his contract which provides that they get a percentage from his sale to another club from Esperance. But let's wait and see what will happen but the interest is increasing every time," the second Siya source stated.

The Mpumalanga-born forward has been an integral part of Hugo Broos' South Africa squad in recent times.

As interest in Mokwana continues to grow, the possibility of a move to Europe looks increasingly likely. With multiple clubs from Europe showing interest, fans will be eager to see where the talented forward ends up and how his career progresses.
