With Stanley Nwabali expected to leave Chippa United, the Eastern Cape club has turned their attention towards an Orlando Pirates keeper as a possible replacement, the Siya crew understands.
Soccer Laduma had previously reported on the contract situation regarding goalkeeper Richard Ofori.

Siya sources at both clubs have indicated that the Gqeberha based side could have inquired about the Ghana national team first choice stopper.
The sources added how Ofori's contract is coming to an end this June, and the Chilli Boys are looking to attract him to the east coast of South Africa.
"Chippa are already preparing for life after Stanley (Nwabali). They don't want to be caught off guard and that's why they have inquired about Richard Ofori from Pirates. They are interested in him in case their number one leaves at the end of the season which is more likely," said the Siya source.
Nwabali is tipped to leave Chippa United because of his heroics at the Africa Cup of Nations this year, in a tournament which Nigeria lost in the final against hosts Ivory Coast.
"They know it won't be easy to get Ofori but they have a good relationship with Pirates and they are hoping on that. But they really want him at the end of the season," the source added.
A second Siya source stated that the only stumbling block could be if Pirates do end up securing Ofori's contract extension just as Soccer Laduma had previously reported how it could happen.
"Yes, for now there is nothing concrete regarding his new contract but it doesn't mean they don't want to keep him. Remember the club has a one-year option on his contract which he signed at the start of the current season when his contract was coming to an end.
"So, if Pirates exercise that option then Chippa may not get him. But, yes there is interest from Chippa and all they have to do is wait for Pirates' decision on their goalkeeper," the source added.
30-year-old Ofori had joined Pirates from Maritzburg United during the 2020/21 season. Despite initially settling down at Bucs, he has not played a league game in this campaign. Ofori has at least participated in three Caf Champions League fixtures, in the early rounds where Bucs failed to progress to the group stage.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chippa United for a comment but no response was received by the time this story was published.
