Let's take a closer look...

Getting to know Jesse Donn | Part 2

Having covered football, his personal style, and social media in Part 1, Jesse Donn had plenty to reveal about his life off the pitch for Part 2 of his exclusive chat with us.

The SuperSport United baller revealed what he gets up to outside his budding football career and it might surprise a few people.

Donn has been completing a part-time Bcom degree and is in his final year of the course that's taken him longer due to his commitments to football.

"I am in the final year of studying a Bcom degree. I can't wait for that to be finished, I've taken it over six years though because I've done part time, so it's a three-year degree but it's taken me six years," revealed Donn, who is looking ahead to life after football by doing another short-course on top of his Bcom studies.

"I'm basically doing a Google certificate in Data Analysis. Reason being is that I think it becomes a jack of all trades, unfortunately it's a master of none so I want to have skills, technical skills, that can potentially get me jobs, get me side hustles while I'm still playing football," added the Matsatsantsa star.

Donn spoke incredibly well in Part 1 of our interview about the presence of social media in the lives of professional footballers, and it's no coincidence that he knows what he's talking about after revealing that he's interning at a social media marketing company to try and get extra skills that will hold him in good stead once he hangs it up in football.

Apart from his side hustle and studies, Donn is committed to serving his church, Urban Life, the same church he got married at a few weeks ago:

"I am really involved at church, I serve at my local church Urban Life. I think they're amazing, a great community of people."

By speaking to Donn, I got the impression of a young footballer who manages to live a balanced life, an ideal figure for up-and-coming stars to look up to.

Outside of church and his studies, the midfielder enjoys reading and cooking in his down time. He finds pleasure in trying out new restaurants with close friends and family and like many South Africans, Jesse loves a good braai.

When asked about what career he would've pursued if it wasn't for football, based and interest and passion, Jesse reckons he would've taken a crack at the food/culinary industry.

"I would probably want to be a chef, or something within the food industry, I really enjoy cooking and everything to do with food. I enjoy watching documentaries and trying new things."

Being a Data Analyst is something the 24-year-old could picture doing, or even a business analyst.

"I think I've got a strategic mind and I enjoy numbers, so someone that has a broad scope of what happens in a business and could try and help those businesses form strategies and plan to see a business become successful in all areas. Even the data, down to the nitty-gritty stuff, I enjoy that too."
