Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag issued a shock response after being asked about David de Gea's future at the club following his costly error in the Premier League on Sunday night.

The 32-year-old has become a divisive figure among fans in recent years, with his horror moment in United's 1-0 loss away at West Ham United the latest in a string of high-profile mistakes since the 2022/23 campaign started.
A fairly tame effort from Said Benrahma squirmed past the Spanish goalkeeper against the run of play, an error that ended up costing the Red Devils all three points and put the team's top-four hopes in jeopardy amid Liverpool's resurgent league form.
With supporters becoming frustrated with De Gea and concerned that a new deal for him is a move in the wrong direction, Ten Hag stated in a post-match press conference that they are hoping he commits to the club beyond June.
"We want him to stay and we want him to extend his contract," he said, according to the Daily Mail.
"He has the most clean sheets in the Premier League. We would not be here in this position without him.
"I believe there are no concerns. It happens. As a team, you have to deal with it, show character, be resilient, bounce back, and that's what this team will do."
De Gea has made four errors leading to goals in the Premier League so far this season, the joint-most with Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris.
